Hello everyone, I'm the new guy. Just discovered your forum by searching the web and I'm looking forward to reading and asking lots of questions so ... be gentle with me. Seriously, I'm far from a font of martial knowledge but I'm curious as heck!

Welcome, SB. I had to chuckle at your name though - interesting mix of chinese and japanese. Most non-MAists wouldn't get it though. ;-)

Heh, yeah the two terms were the most vivid to me growing up when I thought of martial arts ... Shaolin Temple monks or stern Samurai living and dying by the code of Bushido.

They still are though both terms mean alot more to me now than the images I saw on tv or at the cinema as a kid.
